Sang-Moon Bae Wins @ HP Byron Nelson

I remember first seeing Sang-Moon Bae in 2012 at the Match Play where he played amazingly until he ran into Rory Mcilroy.  I thought then and there this is one sweet swing.  It's very rhythmical and is pleasing to the eye at full speed.  He has a swing where he very much "gets behind it" with the upper body with a more classical action and has a somewhat bend left arm through impact.  It's a swing that very much reminds me of Lee Westwood coming into the ball.  He very much starts his swing with his hips as he powers the club through beautifully.  Lastly it looks like he has a very quick hand-set off the ball which is a bit unusual, but something I also prefer as it helps my backswing from getting too long.  He plays with a fairly neutral to slightly closed clubface which I prefer to an open face.  Lastly he keeps his head still, behind the ball, but also out over the ball, there's no pullback with the body.

His win at the HP Byron Nelson was impressive, holding off Keegan Bradley by 2 shots.  Shooting 69 in those very tough conditions was impressive, especially after doubling 9 and then bogeying 10, to have the mental strength to just keep grinding was great.

One last thing I found intriguing is that he doesn't use one of Callaway's premium balls, or even a tour only premium ball, but uses an off the shelf version of the Hex Chrome+, very interesting.

Here are some swings:

This one you can see the quick hand set and getting behind the ball:

Great video here of him firing through with his lower body and dropping the club down to create a lot of speed:

This last one you can really see how he keeps his head out over the ball without any pullback and also how nice of an entry he makes to the ball, very shallow and solid:

Tiger Woods @ TPC Sawgrass 2013

Well, what a great win for Tiger @ TPC, this was a thrilling victory and he made it very interesting after his tee shot at 14 hitting a popup hook into the water.  The baseball 5-wood he hit from the bank next to the water was amazing, to flush a shot like that takes extraordinary talent.  The clutch putt on 15 was the turning point in the round, it kept Tiger in the tournament and his steady play through 18 let him come out with a "W".  This had to feel good for Tiger to win on a track which has given him many troubles in the past, Joey believed in him and I think that really helped his already high confidence.  As we all know the feud with Sergio was WAY overblown and it just had to make the victory for Tiger that much sweeter.

In any event, here are a few videos of Tiger from TPC Sawgrass:

5-wood, SwingVision view, hit about a 10 yard cut into the right side of the 5th hole.

Perfect 5-wood draw into the middle of the fairway on the 18th hole.

Tiger's reaction to hitting that flushed draw right down the middle on the 18th. (He says: "Fuck Yeah")
